Jammu: A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday as artillery and mortar fire from the Pakistan Army resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including a woman and two children, while injuring 38 others in various forward villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials.
In retaliation, the Indian Army has launched a counter-response to the shelling, which follows recent missile strikes by India targeting nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The fatalities occurred primarily in the Poonch district, which was severely affected, with an additional 25 individuals reported injured. Furthermore, ten people sustained injuries in the Uri sector of Baramulla district, while three others were hurt in Rajouri district.
